A. Bülent Sabuncu is a business leader with extensive industry experience and strategic leadership skills. Born in 1969 in Mardin, Sabuncu completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara and then studied Economics at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, graduating in 1992. In 1996, he received his master’s degree from the same university with a thesis on Futures Transactions and in 2001, he received his PhD degree from Istanbul University.

Mr Sabuncu started his career at the Izmir Commodity Exchange, where he played a role in the establishment of the Cotton Futures Market. In 1997, he took part in the establishment of Oyak Portföy Yönetimi A.Ş., Turkey’s first asset management company, where he served as Board Member and Operations Director. Subsequently, he held senior management positions at Global Portföy Yönetimi A.Ş. and Atlas Menkul Kıymetler Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş.

Mr Sabuncu served as a Board Member and CFO at Balnak Logistics Group between 2002 and 2013, and as Assistant General Manager at Umur Basım ve Kırtasiye between 2013 and 2014. Between 2014-2018, he worked as CFO at Flo Mağazacılık ve Pazarlama A.Ş., and then as General Manager at OMSAN Logistics. Joining Koton in November 2019, Sabuncu was appointed CEO in October 2020 after serving as General Manager in charge of Support Departments for one year.
