Who is Gülizar Yavaş?
Gülizar Yavaş is the Head of EU Single Market and Green Deal Department at the Turkish Ministry of Trade. She coordinates Turkey’s green and digital transformation together with public and private sector organizations, NGOs and academic institutions. She works on issues such as emissions trading, carbon border regulation, green finance, sustainable energy, sustainable transportation, technological development, circular economy and fair transition for labor.
She is also responsible for institutional and technical relations related to the Customs Union between Turkey and the EU. Yavaş informs Turkish manufacturing industries and exporters about developments in environmental and sustainability issues in the EU, OECD, UN and the World Trade Organization, and assesses the impact of these issues on trade.
