Talip Murat Kolbaşı graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Business Administration in 1987. In 1988, he started his professional career at Arzum Elektrik Ev Aletleri A.Ş., where he managed the sales, business development and foreign trade departments, respectively.

He has been serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors since September 2015. In 2008, he led the establishment of a partnership with Turkish Household Appliances B.V., a subsidiary of Ashmore Group, one of the world’s leading investment firms, with a 49% share transfer, and contributed to Arzum’s progress towards becoming a leading company in its sector.

In 2013, he played an important role in the sale of 49% of Arzum shares to SDA International.
