Sadi Özdemir was born in 1967 in Ilıcak Village, Tokat. In 1977, the Özdemir family relocated to Istanbul. Sadi Özdemir graduated from Haydarpaşa High School in 1986 and subsequently earned his degree from the Faculty of Communication at Marmara University in 1993. He further pursued a Master’s degree in Journalism at the same institution.

With nearly 30 years of continuous experience in journalism, Mr. Özdemir has dedicated the majority of his career to working with daily newspapers. From 1990 to 2001, he served as Deputy Head of the Intelligence and Economy Departments at Türkiye Newspaper. From 2001 to 2017, he held the position of Deputy Editor and Editor in the Economy Department of Hürriyet Newspaper. Between August 2017 and September 2021, Mr. Özdemir was the Head of the Economy Department at 24 TV. He currently continues his professional endeavors at Nasıl Bir Ekonomi Newspaper (www.ekonomim.com).

Mr. Özdemir is a member of the Turkish Journalists’ Association and the Association of Economy Journalists. He is also the author of 10 published books and holds a permanent press card.
