Who is Süleyman Orakçıoğlu?

Süleyman Orakçıoğlu is one of Turkey’s leading business people and has achieved great success in creating a global brand in the fashion industry. He is the Chairman of Orka Holding and the founder of Damat-Tween-D’S brands. Orka Holding is a well-known brand in the men’s ready-to-wear sector with 420 stores worldwide, from Australia to Italy.

Orakçıoğlu was honoured with the “Industrialist and Businessman of the Year” award by the Anatolian Press Association in 1998 and was named “Businessman of the Year” by the Mediterranean Journalists Association in 2000. Furthermore, Damat-Tween brands were awarded by Dünya Newspaper as “The Most Successful Brands” in 2000, “The Most Successful Company in the Crisis” in 2001 and “The Most Successful Brand in its Sector” in 2002. In 2002, he was awarded “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ekonomist Magazine and represented Turkey in Monaco in the “World Entrepreneur of the Year” competition organised by Ernst & Young.

Süleyman Orakçıoğlu was also honoured with the “Entrepreneur of the Year Special Award” in Washington D.C. by the Turkish American Business Council. His Damat-Tween brands were the subject of a research thesis at London College of Fashion University and he was selected by the students of Aarhus University as one of the 30 most successful entrepreneurs in Europe.
