Mr. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed is a bureaucrat with an extensive career in government who has made significant contributions to Malaysia’s economic and education sectors.   

Beginning in 1995 when he was elected MP for Jeli in Kelantan, he has held a number of important positions during his political career, including Minister for International Trade and Industry, Minister for Agriculture and Agro-Industry, Minister for Higher Education and Minister for Entrepreneurship Development. In particular, during his tenure as Minister of State for Economic Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office, he led and oversaw Malaysia’s medium and long term socio-economic development planning. During his tenure, he has undertaken several initiatives to enhance Malaysia’s status as a dynamic talent hub and promote sustainable economic inclusion.
